William Minshall Birchall was born in 1884 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA. He was well known as a Marine painter and often painted in watercolour. He later moved to Liscard, Cheshire.
William Birchall exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. King Gustav of Sweden purchased one of the artist’s paintings.
