Framed original watercolour painting of an Iris Cayeux flower, ‘Cayeux Burnt Toffee’.
Louise attended Wimbledon School of Art in the late sixties and early seventies, having gained her Pre-Diploma at Oxford Brooks, then Headington Technical College.
She had a very successful career in Film and Television industries as a costume designer, working with such actors as Benny Hill, Sir Laurence Olivier, Alan Bates and the wonderful Denholm Elliott, on such diverse programs as Kenny Everett and Agatha Christie.
Coming from a family impregnated with architects, artist, perspectivists and art dealers it is no surprise that Louise chose the arts as her profession.
Fascinated by nature and the ‘great outdoors’, Louise has a deep love of all animals and is intrigued by how the natural world echoes itself in form and shape, with some animals looking like plants and vies versa.
Louise has developed a way of recording this intimacy through her work, her images are transferable and contain multiple translations, bold yet delicate. She loves to use pure pigments, thereby exploiting the power of crystals within the paints, of which most commonly used are Lapis Lazuli, Kyanite, Rhodonite, Green Apatite, Black Tourmaline and Jadite.
Louise has shown at a number of galleries both in and out of London while her works have been chosen for numerous editions of the prestigious Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colour Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London. She also has been short listed for the RA Summer Exhibition on several occasions. Her work is included in numerous prestigious private collections both in the UK and internationally.
