Adrian C. Rigby was born in 1962 in Chorley, Lancashire. He studied at Blackpool College of Art in 1979, and began teaching there himself by the mid 1980s. Rigby has over the years, experimented with a range of mediums, his choice of subject matter has also varied, painting everything from aviation to maritime scenes. Reflecting on this broad portfolio of work Rigby suggests that he is ‘fascinated with new challenges’ that come only by exploring new genres of art.
Rigby now works out of his studios in Florida, England and Spain as a fulltime successful contemporary artist. He has exhibited widely, across Asia, America and Europe in the likes of Harrod’s and the world famous Tryon gallery, both in London. Rigby has found the most success with his depictions of wildlife, winning three wildlife art awards, at the Annual Open Exhibition of The Wildlife Art Society.
