About Tony Smith
Tony Smith has always had a passion for motor racing. He once cycled from Birmingham to Silverstone in 1948 to see his first Grand Prix.
He attended art school, graduating with honours and distinction and went into graphic design and illustration in the advertising world. He still often painted in the evenings and weekends. His subjects varied from portraits, to drawings planes and military scenes but mostly loved to capture the speed in motor racing. He painted scenes from both historic events and modern F1.
When Tony was younger, he also had a passion working on cars and today still builds sports cars. He combines both his passions, which makes him very well known in his unique paintings.
