About Arthur Clause Strachan
Arthur Claude Strachan was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1865 and died in 1939. He was a fine landscape watercolorist, and was best known for his beautiful and sentimental pictures of flower-wreathed cottages and village scenes.
Strachan studied art at Liverpool Art College and later travelled throughout Great Britain in order to paint the country life which he loved to portray. He lived in many places including the Cotswolds Warwick, Evesham, New Brighton, Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, North Wales and Minehead.
He exhibited at the Birmingham Art Gallery Royal institute of watercolour artists, R A and the Walker Art Gallery Liverpool.
