Vernon Beauvoir Ward (1905–1985) was a painter and commercial artist known for his depictions of flowers, birds, and Edwardian subjects. Ward studied under successful artists such as Henry Tonks at the Slade School of Art. It was under this tutorage that Ward began to refine his use of light and spatial arrangements on his canvases. Following the completion of his artistic studies Ward went on to illustrate a variety of widely produced graphic materials, such as commercial packaging, jigsaws and greeting cards. Ward was given his first solo exhibition at the King Street Galleries in 1976 and in his life exhibited throughout the UK. In his later years he became a member of the New Society of Artists.
