Artist Biography
About John McDougal
John McDougal was born in Liverpool in 1851 (d.1945). Despite his upbringing in the city he specialised in painting landscape scenes favouring coastal areas such as Cornwall, Devon, Anglesey and the Isle of Man. McDougal exhibited at the likes of The Royal Academy, The Royal Society of British Painters and The Royal Institute of British Watercolour Painters. His work is now held at galleries across the UK including the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.
