Artist Biography
About Michael James Smith
Michael James Smith was born in Southend-on-Sea in 1976. Smith was inspired by his father, David Smith, who was also an artist. At nineteen Smith completed his first painting in just four weeks. He often paints countryside landscapes of rolling hills and meandering rivers. His work is very striking utilising rich colour palettes, he paints with incredible, almost photorealistic detail.
