About Marc Grimshaw
Marc Grimshaw was born in Macclefield, East Cheshire in 1957. In his youth he moved into the city of Manchester, where he attended a local school before progressing to the Manchester School of Art. Grimshaw expressed both passion and talent for the subject, continuing his studies with a two year course at South Trafford College where he covered a broad spectrum of artistic pursuits including, Fine Art, Design and Graphics.
Grimshaw quickly began working as a full-time professional artist following the completion of his studies. Establishing himself as a versatile artist with a penchant for creating beautiful impressionistic pastel drawings. Today Grimshaw is widely recognised primarily for his pastel scenes of city street life in the 1950s & 60s. He continues to be a prolific artist selling and exhibiting artwork here in the UK & abroad, reaching as far as Australia and Canada.
He now lives in Cheshire with his wife and two children. From his studio he fulfils commissions, clients of his have included the BBC, University of Manchester, Granada TV and Shell U.K.
