William Timym, born on October 5, 1902, in Vienna, Austria, was an artist and animator known for his contributions to comics, animation, and realistic wildlife art. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and began his career with exhibitions in Austria leading to his artworks being distributed internationally.
After having moved to England in 1938 due to the Nazi occupation and produced wartime illustrations for the Ministry of Information during World War II. He became a naturalized British citizen in 1949 and was awarded the MBE in 1988 for his sculptures cast in bronze, of which the artistic legacy continues to inspire and entertain audiences worldwide.
William Timym passed on the 31st of May 1990.
