About Judith Levin

Judith Levin is based in Leeds. She is an internationally collected still life and landscape artist and was nominated for the Women of Achievement Award in 1993. She is also patron of the charity Educate the Kids.

Her work consists of mainly still lifes, very often of flowers and Yorkshire moorland landscapes. She uses a technique of pure painting, freely building a classical composition directly onto the canvas in paint without the use of drawn or planned outlines.
Her paintings are well known for their contrast of texture and the play of light and colour.
This freedom of technique is applied to a simplicity of form. These are contemplative, silent paintings taken from direct observation.
