Arthur Suker was born in 1857 in Tranmere, Cheshire. He later died in 1940.
He was a landscape painter and was the son of John Suker, who was also a landscape painter. He was the brother of Frederick Clive Newcombe, who adopted a pseudonym to distinguish himself from his father and his brother, Arthur, both who were also artists.
Arthur Suker moved around many times in his life, living is Chester, Liverpool, Merton, Surrey, Cornwall, Devon and later settled in Brixham in 1901.
He exhibited By the Western Sea at the RA (1886).
