Artist Biography
Oil painting signed by the artist, framed with a champagne frame and off white slip.
British contemporary artist Daniel Wallace was born in the Scottish Lowlands into a farming community. From just a young age Wallace knew he wanted to pursue a career in art, stepping away from his family’s industry. He developed his skills working across several artistic fields, however later in his career Wallace sustained an accident that led to his retirement. As a result he turned to painting to fill his time, eventually working full-time again in order to nurture his artistic creations. Wallace is inspired primarily by the traditional painting styles of old masters, his work is reminiscent of Victorian artists. When talking of his artwork Wallace stated “I am not a follower of fashion, as fashion comes and goes but nature never changes”, choosing to primarily depict beautiful scenes of the Scottish Highlands and nature as he experiences it.
